  3. In general Indian salwar or shalwar is more pants or a pyjama which is wide at hips and narrow at the legs or loose fitting trouser like garments for legs. Whereas Salwar Kameez can be described as the tunic or a long shirt which is been worn over the salwar which ends near knees and if it reaches longer to the calves it is known as long salwar suits.
